Where's Waldo??
.. or, wow I've been remiss in posting so here's cool stuff and what I've been up to...
Travel, consulting, life its ownself have interfered with my substack discipline of late.
So, here’s a sample of things that have caught my eye and taken my time, and why….
Lianna in London. Hilarious weekly missive from a 20-something American comedian in London.
The sun came out today which was pretty cool of it to do, but the way I gasped when I saw she is going to set at 4:37 pm THIS AFTERNOON. Even the sun is saying “it’s 5 o’clock somewhere!” Scary to me that the winter solstice is still nearly two months away. The upcoming days are going to be, much like the men whom directors kept having me audition opposite in Los Angeles, s h o r t.
and SO MANY PUPS»»
Happy that Colorado won a TechHub designation — it’s why we created TechHubsNow! (d’oh!) Time to build a tech workforce for and of all Coloradans. And fully funding the CHIPS And Science Act should be a bipartisan no-brainer.
As I’ve stacked before, Mass Timber’s another project. The Colorado Mass Timber Coalition has launched. Here’s why mass timber is great for forest health. Decarbonizing steel and cement won’t do it. I was recently on a panel with the great Jerusalem Demsas — here she explains why America doesn’t build things anymore. Which is also why we do not have healthy forests. Or enough affordable housing.
The move to skills-based lifelong learning and away from all-18-year-olds-must-go-to-four-year-college … is accelerating through national groups like the National skills coalition. Traditional post-secondary institutions have all the scale — and have a “ruinous resistance to change” That’s entirely self-defeating. Governments are pushing forward. We’re looking at structures like the New York CEO Jobs Council to drive employer engagement in Colorado. It’s all messy and complicated … and places, institutions, and employers which move fastest to this new modality will win.
I’ve been doing some central business district revitalization consulting. I’m increasingly concerned that the only solution for many of the empty ‘B’ and ‘C’ grade massive office towers … will be to tear ‘em down.

A smattering. And, full disclosure; the inestimable and indefatigable Lianna in London is indeed my daughter. Check out one of her stand-up gigs while there! Or any of her many media. And wonder with her;
